All About Mary:

I have lived in Illinois, Minnesota and now Iowa. I love to travel and plan to go to all 50 states! In order for a state to count, I have to do something there, not just drive through, although that would be much easier! Currently I am a little over halfway to all 50 states! I love traveling outside of the U.S. as well and have been to India, The Dominican Republic, Ireland and Laos. 

I love everything outside: kayaking, biking, walking and jogging (VERY slowly). I love spring and fall when I sit outside with a fire. 

Go Sports! I love football and hockey the most! I am a HUGE Vikings fan and one day hope to see them go past the first round in the playoffs. I also love the Philadelphia Flyers. Yes, I know these feel random. I grew up primarily in Bears/Blackhawks territory, but here we are. 🙂 

I also follow college hockey! For the men I cheer for University of Minnesota Duluth (Go Dogs!) and women, The Ohio State (Hey Nadine!). My family travels every year to see the Men’s Frozen Four Tournament (Final Four, but on ice). We love seeing the games, even if our team isn’t in the final. 

My favorite role in life is being an auntie! (Both k9 and human) I love to spend time and spoil my friend’s dogs and child. My Goddaughter is my favorite human and I live to spoil her daily. I try to plan an evening or day with her monthly, so if I take a day off of work it is most likely to spend it with her! 

In another life I would love to be an event planner for smaller events. I will absolutely be planning my Goddaughter’s birthdays for eternity and will get to tap into this love that way. 

My favorite Holidays: Number one: Ground Hog’s day!! My family every year on Ground Hog’s day watches the movie with Bill Murray and makes/orders pizza. This is something I continued in college (more like forced on my roommates) and still to this day! I have started to pass the tradition along to my Goddaughter (Complete with matching outfits). 🙂 

My second favorite holiday is Christmas. I LOVE to decorate for Christmas and I have 6 Christmas trees in my house (my house is pretty small, but I make room for the trees). 

Goals for my future: Pick up a new hobby, most likely music lessons (maybe guitar or drums?), travel to a few more states to cross them off my list, go to one new event in the DSM area, finish one of the many books I have started reading in the past year, pretend I have a green thumb and plant flowers in the flower beds around my house (anyone have ideas?) and maybe get another tattoo? (Don’t tell my mom)
